3. Heir Conditioning Grand dad did you breathe before air cons were invented was it hard staying alive without modern applications? Grandma weren’t you flustered as you fluttered with paper fans? Could you communicate before faxes and long distance calls become basic necessities? Grandchild we lived before your age. Because of our ignorance we did not know pollution, stress, traffic jams destruction of forests, streams and hills we feared God and nature now nature fears you and money now is your new God.

6. Synopsis of the Poem 2 Stanza Poem 20 lines. Untraditional. Uses no iambic parameters.
7. DEFINITION TITLE EXPLAINATION The title imply the transfer of a generation and highlights the gap that existed and apparent in societies today. These gap existed due to he results of the conditioning affect that took place in the name of development and modern times. Heir 1 a person who will legally receive money, property or a title from another person, especially an older member of the same family, when that other person dies: 2 Someone who now has the responsibility for dealing with a problem or situation that existed or was created earlier. Condition/ Conditioning (INFLUENCE) to train or influence a person or animal mentally so that they do or expect a particular thing without thinking about it.
8. STANZA 1 (A) Grand dad did you breathe before air cons were invented was it hard staying alive without modern applications? Grandma weren’t you flustered as you fluttered with paper fans? Could you communicate before faxes and long distance calls become basic necessities? Definition: flustered:to make someone upset and confused, especially when they are trying to do something. fluttered:to make a series of quick delicate movements up and down or from side to side, or to cause something to do this. Here, the grand child posed a series of questions for granddad and grand mother. The child is very inquisitive and puzzled about how was it possible for them to live in a time where there was no modern facilities and; how it must have been very frustrating for them to live with menial tools.
9. STANZA 2 (A) Grandchild we lived before your age. Because of our ignorance we did not know pollution, stress, traffic jams destruction of forests, streams and hills Here the grandparent answers the main question asked by the grandchild, that is, how did the latter live without modern technological advances such as air conditioning and telephones that make life so much easier. The grandparent then explains that although he or she had lived in an age before their knowledge was “advanced” enough to invent such technological conveniences (“Because of our ignorance”), they lived without the stress, traffic jams and the destruction of nature that such progress brings with it.
10. STANZA 2 (B) we feared God and nature now nature fears you and money now is your new God. Also, the grandparent says, progress has made those living in the grandchild’s age worship money as it is only with money that such modern gadgetry can be bought. Ironically, however, such conveniences come with a spiritual price and stress.

Also signify blaming; “you” as pinpointing. Signify the whole concept in the whole poem “invention” -> air cons; fax; distance calls.

SYMBOL “Represents an idea” The poet also stress that the poem is targeted at present.

This poem is a good introduction for contemporary poem.

The tone is puzzle. The grandchild saw nothing good of those time. The tone here is “ignorant, and looking down”. Blatant with a series of stupid questions. The tone is anticipation of trivial answers.

TONE (Grandparents) The tone “more experienced” that the grandchild did not have the privilege and contrarily should not look down towards. The tone argues that despite the grandchild’s “backwards” view towards them, wonderful experience is evident at the time. The tone here also suggest wisdom, as a sharp contrast to the ignorance. The tone here suggest their perception of wrongful ideas followed by youngsters today.
